How to Have Your Life Together (Without Actually Doing Anything)

Look, I get it. Life is overwhelming. You want to look like a person who has it together without actually going through the exhausting process of getting it together. Good news: I’ve cracked the code. Sort of.

Here’s how to fake it ‘til you make it (or at least until someone offers you snacks and a nap).

1. Carry a reusable water bottle everywhere

Nobody questions your life choices if you’re constantly sipping from a sleek bottle. It screams “hydrated and emotionally balanced” even if you’re just drinking melted ice from three days ago.

2. Use big words in casual conversation

Start dropping words like “intentionality,” “pivot,” or “micro-goals.” Bonus points if you say things like “I’ve been really focusing on alignment lately” without explaining what that means.

3. Make lists. Lose them immediately.

The act of writing a to-do list feels productive. You don’t actually have to complete anything. Just start a fresh one every morning like a hopeful goldfish with amnesia.

4. Own one (1) neutral-toned sweater

Wear it with confidence. People will assume you’re going somewhere important. They won’t know it’s the same sweater you wear during existential crises and Netflix binges.
